About
Ekaterina Donska is a contemporary artist working within psychological surrealism, exploring how thought becomes form and how inner vision turns into image.
Born in Weimar, raised across Eastern Europe, and now based in Munich, she brings a multilayered cultural and emotional sensitivity into her practice — one that is attentive to the architecture of consciousness and the subtle mechanisms of perception.
Her background in psychology defines her artistic language:
each painting is not a depiction, but a model of an inner process.
Eyes become points of attention, organic forms trace the movement of thought, and color expresses emotional logic. Through layered oil techniques, Donska visualizes what usually remains without a visible body: identity, memory, observation, and internal dialogue.
Her main ongoing series
“Faces You’ll Recognize Yourself Later”,
“FluidMind”,
“Watchers” and
“Signs We Never Choose”
– investigate how a person sees themselves, the world, and what looks back in return.
Each series forms a conceptual space where perception, introspection, and symbolic geometry converge.
Donska’s works are held in private collections across Europe, Israel, Denmark, the United States, and Eastern European cultural regions, and have been showcased at the international art fair ARTe Wiesbaden.
Her paintings are recognised for their emotional depth, musical plasticity, and the sense of a living psyche unfolding on canvas.
"Art is the bridge between the visible and the invisible, where geometry meets dreams and consciousness finds its form."
